When I put this one up last week I mentioned that I only had the first 5 minutes or so and that there might be more. Well, YES - there's a lot more. I watched a bit of it and I had to change the movie rating and the scene rating. The movie is in parts pretty silly but Cushing does a very nice job as a fanatical witch finder's general. As for the storyline: The movie starts right off with a pretty brunette being tied to a wooden cross and burned for being a witch - this is the main theme throughout this movie which is a cross between a standard witch hunter movie and a Dracula movie. After that scene a tasty blonde is run down, tied to a similar construction and burned as well - wood was cheap back then it seems. Let's change scene now and take a look at the local castle where a nude young woman is tied to an altar and about to participate in a Black Mass (rather mess) ... the lord is not amused and sends the "priests" off - then he offs the poor girl himself - he's rewarded with dark powers for that. During supper (or something similar) a female guest offends the lord and he has her chained up in the dungeon. Before paying her a visit he converts either Mary or Madeleine Collinson into a vampire. Note: Both, Mary Collinson and Madeleine Collinson, are in the movie, I just don't know who gets "vampired". :)
